Preparation of the dog for examination at the exhibition

12.06.2013

Dog breeding is impossible without exhibitions that serve not only for selecting producers, but are also a demonstration of the state of dog breeding, where propagated blood breed dogs. At exhibitions and broods, experts determine the breed, the type of constitution and the exteriors of dogs.

Exterior - this is the appearance of the animal, which determines the breed, health status and possible physical and working qualities. It is customary to call a large group of animals able to withstand and transmit inheritively the qualities and attributes enshrined in previous generations.

At any exhibition, the exhibits are not only arranged in a certain order, but also specially prepared by them in such a way as to make a favorable impression on experts and spectators. Doping dogs, like dogs of other breeds, should be specially prepared for examination at the exhibition. However, most dogs are exhibited in a completely unprepared form. They make it difficult for experts to work and lose to trained dogs. This is due to the fact that many dog breeders, especially beginners, do not give this necessary value, sometimes just not knowing what and how to do. But how much the dog is prepared for examination, to a large extent depends not only on its place in this group, but also on the degree of the assessment itself.

At the exhibition, dogs should delight the viewer's eyes and facilitate the work of experts who have to carefully consider all the articles, the proportionality of the composition, the quality and condition of the psovin, the nature of the movements, the type of behavior and all that is connected with the exterior.

The process of preparing a dog for examination must pursue the goal of bringing it to this appearance, so that it most closely meets the requirements of the standard. Not the last value in this case has a decorative factor. And what kind of impression can the kudlat, unkempt and filthy, with a collapsed psovin, produce, but noble and, quite possibly, a very good setter of English setter, if you show it without bringing the appearance in the corresponding breed?

It is unlikely that a novice dog breeder, after seeing such an exhibit, will want to have him in his apartment as a friend in the family and an assistant on the hunt. And from a well-groomed, properly trained dog, the eyes are not torn off, you will want to have a dog by all means.

However, despite the fact that only exteriors are defined at exhibitions, dogs need to be prepared mentally, as the result of the examination largely depends on how they behave in the ring.

At any requirements of the standards that determine the individual status of dogs of any breed, they are evaluated at the exhibition by a well developed chest, a correctly folded spine (strong, springy back), the right limbs, a psovinus condition corresponding to the breed, and musculature, and also cheerfulness , energy and mobility.

Physical training. In which body to show dogs? This very important factor many dog breeders do not attach such importance, as required by experts. Dog breeding distinguishes five conditions of dogs:
- factory, or exhibition (with well-developed muscles, a light layer of subcutaneous fat, full health, shiny psovina, cheerful, cheerful dog);
- Working (with a strong, well-developed muscles without a fat layer, with a shiny, dense psovina.) Energetic, mobile, healthy);
- insufficient (poorly fed or very heavy workload, ribs, ridge and makloks are noticeable, with a dull psovina, unhappy, with sluggish movements);
- exhausted (weak musculature, very noticeable ribs, ridge and makloki, weak in articular joints, with shaky gait, psovina dull, loosely adherent, kind of depressed);
- fat (rounded shape, muscles are not noticeable, the stomach is lowered, the back is weak, lethargic, sluggish, the head is below the provision stipulated by the standard, it can not work).

It is hardly necessary to say that at exhibitions it is necessary to show dogs only the exhibition and factory condition, which makes it possible to make the most correct judgment about both their individual articles and the general condition of the dog. If dogs with insufficient, and even more exhausted condition at the exhibitions almost never happen, then with a fat condition, usually a lot.

The trouble is that some dog breeders do not spare the dog food. In fact, they hurt her, especially if they do not have enough time for walks and exercise. Such dogs, as a rule, do not give offspring and are unsuitable for breeding.

If you fed your dog, then before the exhibition it should be restored to normal, and do this not by reducing the feed, but by gradually increasing the load. A muscle that has just lost weight will not increase, psovina will fade, a depressed state will appear. A well-fed and a lot of walking dog will be cheerful, energetic, mobile and cheerful, that is, in the condition that is necessary for the exhibition. With the right content by the beginning of summer, when exhibitions are usually held, dogs manage to transfuse, which is very important.

Psychic training. Dogs at exhibitions appear in unusual conditions for them. The accumulation of a large number of people and dogs, and sometimes very loud music, does not pass without a trace. If adult dogs living in large cities do not have a great impression, then on the young, and even from the periphery, a sharp change in the situation can have a very strong impact, up to a temporary depression.

It is noticed that dogs kept in nurseries and not seeing anyone except one or two employees, as a rule, are afraid of all, or, conversely, to strangers and other dogs are very aggressive. If aggressive dogs at exhibitions give a lot of trouble to the owner or presenter, then the cowardly, and even in a depressed state, torment the experts. Try to properly consider and evaluate the dog, if it in the ring all the time zhmetsya to the legs of the lead, walks with stuffed ears, podzhatym tail and yawns continuously. It is very difficult for such a dog to compete with specially prepared ones, and sometimes it is completely impossible.

Among hunting dogs, there are very few people who are angry with people, as this quality is bad for them and, when breeding by means of selection of producers, dulls. Re-educate the evil dogs is impossible, and from the cowards in the process of preparing for the exhibition, you can achieve a lot. With them, we must often be among the congestion of people and roll in public transport, talking kindly. So that they do not pay attention to other dogs, such walks should be for them a common occurrence. Negotiate with the neighboring dog breeders about the simultaneous walking of your pets and you will achieve what you want.

When examining in each ring, there are necessarily a few dogs that are trying to literally pull the leader out of the fence. They usually pull so that even a strong lead can be very difficult to drive them, which means that it is right to show, and it is difficult for experts to consider, correctly evaluate and put in the right place. 0 These dogs are said to be "lying in a collar". Owners in such cases claim that their dogs are very energetic. However, it is not. Strongly pull those dogs that walk a little on a leash.

Before the exhibition, the dog should be regularly led on a short leash near the left leg. However, you can not go to extremes here either, since by training the dog can be brought to such a state that it will walk around the ring "as if killed," but it is necessary that it move briskly alongside the person, slightly pulling on the leash. The more a dog walks on a leash and without a leash, the less it pulls.

The reason for this behavior can be different - if the dog is brought to the exhibition by the whole family. After all, in the ring with her there is someone walking alone, and the others are standing behind the guard rope. The dog can not be indifferent to this, since the fence often turns out to be that member of the family to which it is most attached, so it can not be withheld or considered. Consequently, as soon as the dog was brought into the ring, all relatives should move to such a distance that she did not see them and could not smell.

How to teach a dog to show bite. An expert examination of the structure of the dental apparatus in dogs at exhibitions is absolutely imperative. What are the pains of experts and the owner, if the dog is not accustomed to show teeth. And to accustom her to this is very simple. At home, in a calm environment, put the dog's muzzle across the palm of your left hand with your nose to the thumb and index finger, and the right one, without closing its nostrils and eyes, lift the upper lip so that the teeth, mainly the incisors, with the jaws closed. Then, with the thumb and forefinger of your left hand, lower your lower lip slightly.

All this must be done affectionately, pronouncing "teeth", and then give the dog a tasty morsel. The procedure should not cause pain to the dog. Initially, you need to do this alone, and then, when the dog gets used, show her teeth to your guests. It does not matter that they do not understand anything in this matter. You do not teach them, but your dog. Just do not forget about the piece. If you repeat this with her a hundred times, with the words: Zorka is a "tooth", then it will not be surprising that by one hundred and first, only hearing: Zorka is "teeth", she, without your help, will show them, peculiarly smiling. It is very unpleasant, when the bite of a dog has to be inspected in the ring forcibly. Many experts avoid doing this because they are not afraid to be bitten, but simply do not want to be carriers of any diseases. Each dog breeder should be able to do it himself.
